The Nashua Historical Society is located on 5 Abbott Street. It is a three story, red brick building with white shutters. The Historical Society is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday's 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Visitors can go to the Historical Society to learn about Nashua's history. While you are there you can read books and look at displays about Nashua's historic past. It is an excellent place for students to go for help with their social studies projects when they are studying about the history of Nashua.
The Nashua Historical Society was first established in 1870, but it was located elsewhere in Nashua. In 1971 Sceva Speare donated the building on Abbott Street to the Nashua Historical Society in memory of Florence Hyde Speare. The picture to the right shows the dedication plaque located on the front of the building.
