    August 20, 1832 Abraham Fifield of Salisbury, New Hampshire, 77 years of age, deposed:

    that April 20, 1775 on the Alarm of Lexington Battle reaching Salisbury, he with most of the other men in Salisbury, (where he then and ever since has lived) set out with Ebenezer Webster (father of Hon. Daniel Webster) Commander of the party to join the forces which might be collected on that occasion; went to Winter Hill, Massachusetts and there on April 23, 1775 enlisted under Capt. Abbot, Col. Stark for eight months served out his time and immediately re-enlisted under Capt. Conner, Col. Webb for two months; served out his term; was three days on the way home and reached Salisbury February 26, 1776;

    that he was in the Battle of Bunker Hill and was stationed at Winter Hill, Massachusetts most of the time;

    that he enlisted again under Capt. Webster, Col. Stickney; joined the army under Stark; was at Battle of Bennington; and served two months as Sergeant and also during his eight months service he served as Sergeant;

    that he was born in Kingston, New Hampshire in 1755.

    August 20, 1832 Nathaniel Atkinson of Boscawen, New Hampshire, 78 years of age, testified to service with soldier in 1775 for eight months; Fifield was Sergeant and Samuel Atkinson was Lieutenant.

    July 19, 1832 James Johnson of Salisbury, New Hampshire "in his 73rd year," testified to service with Sergeant Fifield under Capt. Conner in 1776 and Capt. Webster in 1777.

    Claim allowed and Certificate 1938, New Hampshire Agency, was issued November 13, 1832, Act of June 7, 1832.
