Antrim is a compact, quiet town named for a county in Northern Ireland. It was incorporated in 1777, and sturdy Scotch-Irish settlers established a Presbyterian church here in 1788. The cutlery industry here, which ended in 1989, began with the manufacture of apple paring machines in 1864.
