Hillsboro County MA USGenWeb Project Help Guidelines/Standards - Hillsboro County Town Pages
Thank you for concerning to Host a Hillsboro Co. Town, after you read this if you still want to Host a Town Page eMail ME.
The
USGenWeb Logo:
The USGenWeb Project logo should be prominently displayed on your page.
"Prominent" in Hillsboro County means at the top of the page (i.e. in the first
screen accessed.)
Town Resource Page:
Every town should provide some basic research help for their town. For instance, many of
the town coordinators have provided a list of names, addresses and phone numbers for the
town court clerk, library, and genealogical and/or historical societies, book suppliers
and where appropriate the local Chamber of Commerce.
Town Lookup Page:
Every town should have a bibliography page showing the reference books available for their
town. Lookups should be offered if you or your volunteers have received permission to do
so from the book's author or publisher or the reference books you have available meet the
copyright policies of The USGenWeb Project. At the very least, look-ups should be provided
for the printed Vital Records to 1849, for your town. (No copyright).
Query Page:
Hillsboro County does not have a query page in each town.
Queries are directed to the County page and people are encouraged to subscribe to the
Hillsboro County mailing list. ME can provide you with the code to link to
the County Query page.
Rollcall Page: (Optional)
Many towns have a Rollcall page which is simply a list of user researchers by surname
including their e-mail address. This serves as a connection page in that everyone can see
who is researching a surname an is given a means of contacting them.
(Example1: "STEVENS family 1680's - 1740's" John Deer JD@abc.com)
{Example2:
