Chris Pedersen Jr conducted the Garden State Symphonic Band. The music program featured works by Danish composers HC Lumbye, Carl Nielsen and Jacob Gade. Other music pieces were from Scandinavian composers Wilhelmj, Borge, Teilman, Grieg and Sibelius. A special arrangement, Danish Folk Dance Suite, was a medley of old familiar Danish music performed by the “Copenhagen Five” in the 1930 –1950 era. The “Five” was under the direction of Chris Pedersen, Sr. The musical piece was arranged by Paul Nagle, arranger and musician with the Symphonic Band.
The program also featured the Vasastjärnan Junior Club No. 137 under the direction of Eric Johansson. The youth group performed traditional Swedish dances in authentic dance costumes.
