ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death. See the NSDAR guidelines for membership eligibility and acceptable service.

GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH
Help with research, and the application process, is available at the DAR Elias Van Bunschooten Museum library. Please use the Chinkchewunska Chapter contact information (below) for inquiries about the library.

If you are interested in knowing if your ancestor is recognized by the DAR as a Revolutionary Patriot, please complete the request form on the NSDAR Web site. NSDAR volunteers would be happy to check for you at no charge!

Application papers of active, deceased, resigned, or dropped DAR members may be requested from the Office of Registrar General, Record Copy.

The NSDAR web site provides information on how to begin, or continue, your genealogical research.
