In the morning, visit the DeWint House, another of Washington's Headquarters, in Tappan, NY.
Visit Historic Places in Tappan NY
On trip to the 76 House, visit the DeWint House (Washington's headquarters) which is around the corner from the restaurant. ( not the oldest tavern in the US! But claims to be oldest in NY). Also around the corner the other way is the Reformed Church and Cemetery and Manse.  A short ride away is the John Andre monument, where he was hanged.  It is in the middle of a cul de sac. Members might want to visit these places before or after lunch.

Chapter's Annual Spring Luncheon at the old historic '76 House

The Old '76 House is not simply one of America's oldest taverns. Built in 1668, The Old '76 House had a profound effect on the outcome of The Revolutionary War. Through its long use as a meeting place for patriots, The Old '76 House established itself as safe ground for Americans when the air was rife with revolution and the tavern itself served as the "prison" of the Revolution's most notorious spy, Major John Andre.

Luncheon presentation is on the Morris Canal by Bob Monicelli, Chairman, Wayne Historical Commission
