GSNJ tries to assist those who cannot access our collections in person to do their research. The following procedures have been compiled in an attempt to ensure that your inquiry receives prompt and appropriate attention. Searches will be done for records/information within GSNJ collections held at Special Collections and University Archives, Alexander Library, 169 College Avenue, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.
Type of Research:
Genealogical Research Request -- Complete the Research Request Form, including any dates and details you already have.
Submitting Requests:
Mail completed request form to GSNJ's Corresponding Secretary at PO Box 1476, Trenton, NJ 08607-1476. Also, include a stamped, self-addressed business-sized envelope so research results can be mailed back to you.
Things We Can't Do:
1) Guarantee that our search for records will be successful.
2) Research beyond the GSNJ collections.
3) Extended research on family surnames or individuals.
Other Avenues for Research:
Please see our list of Professional Genealogists who can provide individualized research. Please contact each genealogist for services, pricing and other terms.
