BATHGATE, KIA, NAHAOLELUA posted by Vicki DeLeo on Friday, April 11, 1997

Looking for any information on my grandfather, George KIA. He also went by his Hawaiian name, Kia NAHAOLELUA. He lived in Newark at 20 Avon Avenue in the late 1940's to early 50's (exact dates not known.) His second wife's name was Anna, who was 17 at the time of his death, and they had a daughter named Judith, age 4 months when he died. He was killed in a car accident on Madison Hill Road near Beachwood Road in Clark, NJ, about 1949-1950, we believe. He was 38. He had served in the Navy (which claims to have no record), played guitar with a Hawaiian band prior to moving to NJ, and was previously married to (Mary) Jean BATHGATE. They had one child, Dawn Leilani KIA, who is my mother. All I have to go on is the newspaper article regarding the accident, but the date and name of the paper has been cut off. If this sounds familiar to anyone, Please contact me.
