The Passaic County Historical Society Genealogy Club was established in 1985. It mission is to share genealogical and historical information, educate the public with regard to its heritage, and assist in publishing and preserving Passaic County genealogical records.

We are headquartered at historic Lambert Castle, Valley Road, Paterson, New Jersey with regular meetings held there on the second Saturday of each month, September through May. The business portion of the meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. and following light refreshments, we relax and enjoy informative genealogical or historical presentations by a variety of knowledgeable speakers. There is usually a workshop each year and an annual trip in the spring.

Of genealogical interest, the research library collections include various hereditary / patriotic society publications, transcripts of various Passaic, Bergen, and Essex County church and cemetery records, special census records, newspaper abstracts, city directories, compiled family histories, and historical works. A surname database and card file is maintained to which researchers may submit information.

Visitors are welcome to attend two of our monthly meetings as our guest. By the third meeting, an annual dues contribution makes you a member of the Passaic County Historical Society, automatically entitling you to membership in the PCHS Genealogy Club. Coupled with our monthly meetings, you will receive "The Castle Genie," the quarterly newsletter of the Genealogy Club. Membership also entitles you to use the Society's abundant historical resource material at Lambert's Castle and advanced notice of any upcoming Historical Society functions and events.
