In the early 1990s, the South River Historical & Preservation Society, Inc., under the direction of Ken Roginski, began a project to inventory and document the gravestones in the older sections of the cemetery in order to preserve the information contained there. The project was finally completed in 2005 by Girl Scouts Christy Fic and Lauren Zdziarski, who earned their Gold Awards for their work, and Boy Scout Will Stoffers, who earned his Eagle Scout Award.

The information that was collected includes documentation of the inscription on each stone that was still legible, as well as sketched details of each stone. Complete data is accessible at the South River Museum--Old School Baptist Church at 64-66 Main Street in South River.
