I would like to contact descendants of José Benito Salazar and his wife Agapita de Dolores Archuleta. José Benito, born abt 1815 in Los Luceros, was my 3g-grand father (Retatarabuelo) through Emilio Girard. José Benito was the son of José Manuel Salazar and María Serafina de la luz Romero. Agapita was born March 15, 1816 in Los Luceros or la plaza de Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Juan Andres Archuleta and María Margarita Antonia Lucero. Years ago I bought the last of the publishers inventory of "CHAVEZ: A Distinctive American Clan of New Mexico" by Fray Angelico Chavez - I have a few left. This book is out of print and extremely rare (it was a limited printing). There is a beautiful full-color Chavez family crest (coat of arms, "escudo") on the cover - the best version I've ever seen.

I am researching my family tree and have documented and traced back to
Gregorio Crespin b.abt. 1707 who married Maria Rosalia Blea in
1794. Gregorio was living in Santa Fe all of his life. The problem I am facing
is documenting Gregorios parents. Fray Angilico Chavez (1910-1996), Origins of
New Mexico Families in the Spanish Colonial Period, Jose Esquibel's Book, The
Royal Road and others state that Cristobal Crespin is likely his father, however
when researching Cristobals family line I see that his family (according to the
LDS records) is the son of Miguel de la Cruz de Lara and Juana de Ancizo from
Zacatecas Mexico but the surnames do not match. I am finding conflicting
information from this era as to whether:
1 - is Cristobal Crespin the father of Gregorio Crespin and if so, who was the
mother and where can I find documentation of this - and -
2 - was Cristobal Crespin actually Cristobal de la Cruz Crespin (as Joseph
Crespin son of Gregorio Crespin was listed in baptismal and census records as
Jose de la Cruz Crespin as well as Jose and Josef Crespin) since the parents

August 7, 1990. His body was cremated and sent to his relatives in Clermont County, Ohio. I understand that his ashes were later buried at Calvary Cemetery in Clermont County. He was born in Clermont County, Ohio, on August 26, 1911, so he was 79 years old at his death. There are no closer family relatives than cousins, as far as I know. He never married and his parents and siblings who might have known his final information have all passed on. He was visiting relatives or friends in New Mexico when he died. That is as much information as I have on him. I obtained his SS-5 record from the Social Security Administration, but I have been unable to find anything else. I've "rescued" a group of photographs including many belonging to the RICHARDSON Family. The first is a photograph of "Grandma RICHARDSON" which was taken in Lampasas, Texas sometime between 1908-1912. The lady in the photograph appears to be in her 70's at the time it was taken. The second photograph is also identified as "Grandma RICHARDSON" and was taken in front of a house in Waco, TX sometime before 1908 and notes the address as 1026 N. 18th Street or 1102 N. 18th Street referring to a change in addresses that the City of Waco made after the family moved to Waco.
The third photograph is of Mary, Hugh, and John RICHARDSON taken in 1869 and addressed to Cousin Lizzie on April 29, 1869. There is no studio location noted on this photograph, however, the three appear to be siblings ranging in age from 6-15 years. The fourth is also a photograph of Mary, Hugh, and John RICHARDSON, taken in March 1885 at the Maxwell's Studio in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. The three appear to be in their 20's and 30's at the time this photograph was taken.
The fifth photograph is of a group of 6 young men with one identified as "Uncle Hugh", the same Hugh RICHARDSON which appears in the other photographs. This photograph was taken at the James Studio in Iowa City, IA, probably sometime in the 1880's with Hugh appearing to be in his 20's at the time.
The sixth photograph is of J.H. RICHARDSON and was taken at the Maxwell Studio in Mt. Ayr, IA and is dated 1886. I believe this is the same man previously identified as John RICHARDSON in earlier photographs. He appears to be in his 30's or 40's at the time the photograph was taken. Another unidentified photograph from the Shroyer & Barnhart Studio in Mt. Ayr, IA appears to be an earlier photograph of "Grandma RICHARDSON", probably taken in the 1870's or 1880's with the subject appearing to be in her 50's at the
time.
Three additional photographs are all of Sidney A. KEYES identified as Grandma RICHARDSON's brother. These are photographs taken at studios in Michigan and Iowa. Three additional photographs are taken in the H.B. Rice Studio which I believe was in DeWitt, Nebraska and are identified as "Mama" and Aunt Kate MILLER. An additional unidentified photograph with no location appears to be another photograph of the woman identified as "Mama".

I live in Ohio and I am researching your area, especially Lincoln County. My ancestor John Savage served in the U S Armed services at Fort Stanton, Lincoln County, from 1878 until his discharge in 1881. I have been unable to locate him after this date. The National Archives in Washington D C have no records of him. The 1880 U S census places him in Fort Stanton Lincoln county, and states him as single, white, age 30 born Scotland. My Grandfather was John Stone, came to New Mexico from Tennessee some time in 1865. He was married 3 times: 1 Gavina Chaves, 2 Carmelita Valdez, 3 Sofia Gutierrez. Carmelita was my GGrandmother. I'm researching the history of Joseph Tomas Tolmich and Maria Guadalupe Benevides. Joseph Tomas was my Grandfather five Generations back. He was born in Baranza Megye Turkey in 1821 and came to the U.S. in 1849. He was stationed in the military at Fort Union New Mexico Territory in the late 1850's. He Married Maria Guadalupe Benivedes in 1855 in Albuquerque. Maria Guadalupe was born in Cebollita New Mexico in 1823. It is said that she was a full blooded Apache Indian.
