WELCOME
TO NEW MEXICO
The DAR is a non-profit, non-political, 117 year old, worldwide service organization formed in 1890 and devoted to promoting three tenets: Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotic Endeavor. State Regent Lanita Rasak is honored to carry on this mission. The DAR in New Mexico was organized in 1898 and the first DAR Territorial/State Regent was Mary Catherine Burckle (Beardsley) Prince serving from 1894-1914. Membership
in the DAR provides many opportunities to cherish our American
heritage of freedom, to preserve family and local history, to promote
the celebration of our national holidays, to foster patriotism, to
support our national defense, to support education through our
many programs for youth, and to form
friendships with others who share a love of God, Home, and Country. The
wonderful thing about belonging to DAR is that it offers something of
interest
for everyone, regardless of age, profession, or location.
