Where Did the Zia Originate?

INTRODUCING OUR 2007 - 2009 CHAPTER REGENT

Lucille Wolfe

THE STRONGEST LITTLE CHAPTER IN ALBUQUERQUE

We were organized in 1975 as Colonel Edward Lacy Chapter. In 1991, we reorganized and became the Zia Chapter. We are excited about promoting and supporting the study of American history with local schools and with home schooled children. We meet the 4th Tuesday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., from September to May. You are cordially invited to contact us for membership information.

WHAT WE DO

1. DAR has always been proud of the men and women who serve in America's military, and engages in a variety of service projects for active duty servicemen, women and veterans.

2. DAR supports 6 schools in its mission to promote education, and we encourage school children to learn more about American History with essay awards and Good Citizen contests.

3. Members are encouraged to locate, transcribe, and submit original source records of a genealogical nature to the NSDAR collection. This fine collection is housed in Washington, DC, and easily accessed.

Prospective members are welcome and assistance is available in filling out membership applications.
