Bob:
You may have blown a great big hole in my family tree! But, THANKS !!!
Seversmith assigned my ancestor Daniel FURMAN to this Elizabeth LEWIS,
daughter of Naomi ^5 CONKLIN LEWIS in the Furman section of his "Colonial
Families." The marriage is recorded in the Huntington Presbyterian church
marriages, but BOTH the bride and groom are listed as being "of
Hempstead." Your info is the first SOLID thing I've seen to point that I
have a mistake ... it may well be that my Elizabeth LEWIS is indeed a
member of a Hempstead family .... I had thought for some reason she might
have lived in Hempstead and gone back to Huntington to be married. Some of
this stuff was done so long ago that it all needs to be re-checked step by
step. Although this Daniel Furman came from Hempstead, the line ended up
in Huntington, living in the mid-19th century in the Half Hollows area
near the present Huntington-Babylon line.
ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM ANY OF YOU CONKLIN RESEARCHERS??
Thanks, Bob, for your information.
David
