Hi all - I have just joined ths list. My Conklin family has been a puzzle
for many years - here's hoping that someone may have a clue that connects.
My information is as follows:

My Grandfather's grandfather was David Conklin, b. NJ abt 1834, d. NJ aft
1870. He married Louisa Barton, dau. of John and Mary Barton, Dec, 1854 in
a Methodist Church in NYC by Rev A E Scudder, w/ Lucinda Conklin as
witness. In 1870, he lived in Jersey City, NJ, and worked as
Superintendant of Railroads.

Children:
1. Sarah (b. 1856, alive in 1953)
2. Mary (b. 1858, m. J.J. Willey as 1st wife)
3. David (b. 1860, Mariner)
4.William Henry (b. 1863, m. Lillian Emily Willey, lived as photographer in
Jersey City, NJ)
5. Jessey (b. 1865, m. J.J. Willey as 2nd wife) - my grandfather's mother
6. Washington (b. 1867).
perhaps others

There seems to a large Eastern US Conklin family (via Salem,MA. and
Southold, NY) but I don't know of any links with this particular family.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
