My GGGF is Garret See who was born in 1811 perhaps in Schodack,
Rensselaer County NY. His father was Simeon G. Dutcher, who married
Johanna Conklin in Nassau NY in 1813. Johanna was a descendant of the
Philipsburgh Conklin family (as well as of Isaac Sy, although Garret's
parentage is not known).
All three families seem to have been part of a stream of people that
migrated from the Amenia/Dover area (Dutchess Co.) up to the Schodack
area, and then up to Wilton in Saratoga Co. I'd be interesting in
knowing more about this constellation of families and what attracted
them to these places.
If I can find Garret's parents in the process that would be very nice,
although our family has been researching him for nearly 50 years without
success, so I don't expect miracles at this point! However, I do look
forward to some stimulating discussion.
