I have just joined too. My Conklins were from Orange County, NY. The first
one I can find is a Samuel Conkling, b. abt 1750, he worked for the Townsends
at Southfields, NY (now Tuxedo, for a long time part of Monroe) had a son
Peter, m.
Betsey Odell, who had a son Samuel m. Susan A. Morgan, and was my ancestor.
