First, I believe Thor Tholsen is confusing the two
generations of John Conklins. The second generation was
born in Nottingham. The first, with his brother Ananias, in
Kingswinford, Staffordshire, I do believe. Documentation is
welcome, amd certainly more fruitful than rehashing Conklin
Mann. Staffordshire is known for pottery manufacturing, etc.
Second, I found Bob Leutner's speculation on the failure
of the Glass House Field in Salem, Mass. offensive, no
matter how light he might have meant it. One need only look
to the funders of the operation, ie., the persecution of
Lawrence Southwick for the answer.
