Then, later, during the Ameriacn Rev. War, a NICHOLAS HUGH, of
Philadelphia, was with the British Army on Long Island, "as wagon-master,
1779 to 1783, transporting Infantry baggage between Jamaica to Southampton".
His wife and family were reported to have been with him.
>From his own records, we know that he was at Lloyd's Neck in 1779 and
Southampton in 1781. His only son was born 1782 or 3, but records have never
been found.
Given the tumultuous times and the fact that NICHOLAS HUGH was the enemy,
where could I look for information about family membere who were with
NICHOLAS HUGH and where/when his son DAVID was born.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your consideration of my
query.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
