This Bible was passed on to me by my Dad but I have been unable to connect
Archibald to our family. If Dad ever told what the relationship was, I
have long since forgotten. I suspect that he may have been a son of my GG
Grandfather, Peter A. Nellis, and his first wife, Catherine Wallrad.
Peter and Catherine lived in the Ft. Plain area until abt. 1818.
One entry in the Bible is for Archibald's marriage to Ann Eliza Burnham on
11/21/1835. The marriage was by Rev. T. (or S. ?) Watraus and took place
in Ephrata. (I also have an album of old photographs, some of whom are
identified as Burnhams.)
I would like to find Rev. Watraus' or his church's records to see if the
marriage record might identify their parents.
LDS IGI file and information obtained from the Nellis Family Association
give his parents as John/Johann Nelles and Anna Nellis but these people
are not connected to my Nellis line.
It just doesn't make sense that I would end up with his Bible if Archibald
were not related somehow. Does it?
Any information or suggestions will be appreciated.
