married Maey Smith. James was the son of John Newberry and Jemima Benedict and
was born 29 May 1791 in Orange county. Mary was the daughter of Samuel Smith
and Jane Stephens and was born, I believe, 11 Jun 1792, in Warwick, Orange, NY.
