This is my first time posting to this body- I've reached a dead end with
this name and welcome any help at all! Thanks in advance!

Two brothers, John Wesley and Cornelius BILYIEU, came to America about the
time Napoleon was banished. They were two of his bodyguards. They settled
around Albany, New York.

John married Jennie WOOD, of Albany NY, who was believed to have come from a
good family in England. John and Jennie settled in Allentown PA and had three
children, Nellie, Cornelia and John Wesley [Jr]. Both brothers eventually
went to the black hills, looking for gold, and were never heard from again.

Jennie moved her family back to Albany where she cared for them by cleaning
lecture (or dance) halls until the time of her death. The children were
taken to an orphanage nearby.

I have photocopies of pictures of each in Civil War uniforms. One brother
(Cornelius?) is said to have died in an old soldier's home in Colorado.

If anyone has any ties at all to the BILYIEU name, I would love to correspond
with you. I can be reached at 0002667807@mcimail.com (first three characters
are zeros) as the primary address or PLANOHAWK@aol.com as a secondary site.
