My research is just starting and I am trying to concentrate on the DOLFINI
side of my family. Here is what I know thus far;
Andrew DOLFINI (b. ABT 1853 d. ????) came to the US in 1867 from the Lake
Maggiore area of Switzerland. He worked at Delmonicos Resturant in NYC
until 1877 when he married and bought a farm close to Middletown, New York.
By that time he had been joined in New York by three of his brothers,
Philip, Peter and Joseph. As far as I know he only had one daughter named
Josephine who never married. He was still alive in 1936 living on his farm.
Philip DOLFINI (b. ???? d. ABT 1935). I have no other information on him
other than he may of had a son named Philip. He may of also had a farm near
his brothers.
Peter DOLFINI (b. 1859 d. 1935) was my great grandfather. He married Louise
BIANCHI (b. 1859 d. 1921) and had four children for certain (Mary, Peter,
Philip and Andrew) and perhaps a fifth (??Charles??). He had a farm close
to Middletown, New York and is buried at Otisville, New York.
Joseph DOLFINI (b. 1861 d. 1944) Also had a farm close to Middletown, New
York. Married Louise BRONNER and had at least five children (Julius,
Joseph, Frank, Henry and Raymond). He is also buried at Otisville, New York.
Any help with the DOLFINI's or any of the other surnames in my tree would be
appreciated. My family for the most part has always lived in the tri-states
area of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
