GEN-NYS-L: The Missing Schermerhorns

Am looking for some help with the Schodack Schermerhorns . . . Mr.
Schermerhorn's 1912 genealogy, while excellent, is short at least one
entry:

Isaac SCHERMERHORN, married to Rachel UNKNOWN, early 1800s. One child
I am sure about (my ancestor) is Eliza "Attie" SCHERMERHORN, born 7 Jul
1807 in Schodack, NY, died 13 Dec 1887 in Coeymans, NY, buried Grove
Cemetery. Eliza married Abraham Applebee, Jr., who was from Westerlo,
NY (his family had moved up from Dutchess County @1801). Eliza may
have had a brother named Irwin, who died in Coeymans on 19 Jul 1877.

Clearly these folks are descended from the one and only Schermerhorn
family, but how, he wondered aloud?

I have information on a number of colonial Dutch lines, and welcome all
inquiries. Thanks...
