In the spirit of offering help to subscribers of this list
I would like to tell all with New Netherland roots about my new
newsletter. Response has been very heartening to date from interested
members of ROOTS-L and the NY History list. Here is the standard blurb
I've been sending to interested parties. The February issue of NEW
NETHERLAND CONNECTIONS is ready for mailing now!

Because of my keen interest in the New Netherland period of proto-New
York (1624-1664), I have decided to start a new genealogical newsletter
called "New Netherland Connections". It will be devoted to helping those
who are trying to link up to a New Netherland ancestor as well as those
who are trying to trace descendants of known such. The newsletter will
come out quarterly -- in February, May, August, and November -- and the
price (because of postage costs) will be $15.00 a year. I am offering to
send a free copy of the first issue to anyone who wants one because I
don't expect anyone to buy a pig in a poke. If you would like to have
your name added to the mailing list to receive the February issue, please
send me your postal address. The newsletter will be in paper copy, not
electronic, since I also hope to get subscribers who have no access to
email. I plan to publish queries -- of any length -- free. If you would
like to send along a query too, that would be fine. Dorothy
