Anyway; Dorothy here was my reply:
Dorothy; I'm sorry but CD # 138 is the 1791-1809 Census INDEX & Tax List for
NY & N Eng. The only names that are listed on a Census INDEXES are the Heads
of Household. All other members of the household are listed in groups of
five numbers ,One for Males, One for Females broken down by age group. The
first number ages under 10; second 10-15; third 16-25; fourth 26-45 and the
fifth 46 and over.
You will probably have to find the town clerk for Newburgh, NY to find death
info prior to 1880. (That's when the State started keeping records).
