2)Someone else suggested to write to the NYC Clerk at Chambers and Centre St.
NY,
NY 10007 and ask them for the enumeration dis. for the particular year.
3) Of course another suggestion was the FHC also having some enumeration
district maps for NY on fiche and some city directories on film. Look for
Locality-New York.
Another person said to specifically ask for a map of the e.d. published by
the census bureau for the year oif the census you're looking for. But since
these are all volunteers to double check what they find and give you(make
sure it is the right year,etc.)
4)I was also told to try the web pages on
http://emcee.com/census/1870_schedules/New.York.html
this one is for 1870 but I was told they have other years also.
5)Someone else had a similar problem and this is what they did-
a-located an address in the Particular city directory for the year in
question and for the yeat on either side(just in case.
b- located an old map of NYC with ward boundries marked. This person was
lucky that the nearest historical society had such a map.
c- Then they went to the 1880 census index for NYC to determine which film
reel contained the ward they were looking for - And it worked for them.

Now my next question does any one have access to these maps with the ward
boundaries marked and could I possibly get copies? Please e-mail me if this
is possible and I will let you know the years I am looking for.
