GEN-NYS-L: Densmore search

My gGrandfather, Timothy Austin Densmore, b.8 Sep 1817, has me at a dead
end. In all the NY census he listed his birthplace as VT,which has no
record. I just got his death certificate and it says Middlesex,NY. No names
on parents, but says father born Ireland,mother born CT. Flaming red hair on
Grandma and her siblings makes me believe Ireland, but I have been unable to
find anything. Can anyone help? BTW,I sent to VT for record,but they had
none. I am desperate for help and/or a suggestion. Eva
