John Stacy of Ipswich, Mass., son of Samuel, was captured in 1756 or
1757 at Lake George, N.Y. He was taken to Canada, where he chose to remain,
and he lived with the Indians.
During the Revolutionary War, Lt. Col. William Stacy served at Cherry
Valley in 1778 with Col. Ichabod Alden's Massachusetts Regiment. Alden was
killed; Stacy was captured in 1778 by Indians and Loyalists and also taken to
Canada.
How was John related to William?
In 1813 Samuel Stacy, living on the St. Lawrence below Ogdensburg, was
arrested as a spy by the Americans. Was he related to either of the above?
Also in 1813, L.C. Thomas Stacy died at St. Louis, aged 48. He was
"Secretary of the Iroquois Nation." What does that mean, and who was he?
