Seeking info on Abner DOTY/DOUGHTY living in Fredericksburg Precinct,
Dutchess Co., NY in 1780's. His will names 2 daughters, Paty and Sarah,
3 sons Abner, Jr., Lias, and Stephen. Also left a wife, name not
given, but a Lydia DOTY named as one of executors, along with
Christopher TOWNSEND and Nehemiah WOOD. Will witnessed by Ebenezer
BAILEY and Gilbert TOWNSEND.
All children were under age, the boys all under the age of fourteen.

I think the Stephen above is my Stephen as this seems to agree with the
information in EAD's Doty Genealogy, my Stephen's eldest daughter was
Lydia Ann, he had another daughter Martha, and a son, Elias. The
Problem: Stephen's date of birth in his family Bible is given as 11
May 1786... the date the will was written is 12 Oct 1785.
I need to find some record indicating that the date in the Bible is a
year to late. Does anyone have any idea of what churches existed in
that area at that time?
To further complicate matters, I think Fredericksburgh Precinct later
became a portion of the towns of Carmel, Kent, and Patterson in Putnam
Co., NY. Does anyone know for certain if this is correct?
