Hello: I have been doing lookups this week for Orange Co. and would like to
share some other resource areas for researchers in Orange and Ulster Co. NY.
(1) For Dutch Reformed Church families: TRY Bergen Co. NJ! Many of the NY
Dutch came from there. How about the NJ GenWeb project. You can get there
via the US GenWeb- which will also give you access to the NY pages. These
are GREAT resources. URL=http://www.usgenweb.com/
(2) For another Bergen NJ resource leading to NY, try Pat Wardell's home
page. URL=http://maple.nis.net/~wardell/ I just exchanged alot of NY
information with Pat.
(3) There is a new Dutch-Colonies mailing list: subscribe to:
MAISER@rmgate.pop.indiana.edu In the body of the message write only : SUB
DUTCH-COLONIES
(4) Books- like I use for references for the lookups for Orange and Ulster Cos.
Try: Hope Farm Press. They have a great collection. There may be other
venders, but I haven't seen them. URL=http://www1.mhv.net/~hopefarm/
[thats a one after www]
[I have no vested interest in any of these recommendations. Just want to share.]

I will still do lookups for Orange Co. When you write, please let me know if
you have checked the census indexes, and which ones. I also have the 1790
census index for Orange co. and Ulster co. If I am slow in responding this
week, well, its because I am heading North on vacation to do some genealogy
research in Orange Co. NY and Rutland Co. VT.

Another Leaf-Peeper.
