Reading Steve lay's success story, I thought I would share that a woman
researching Babcocks in Petersburg/Berlin area of New York gave me a great
tip about a local history book of that area. When i contacted its author, I
learned my Jones had a lot more about them in Rhode Island. I contacted the
Rhode Island archives online and received a photocopy of all the birth
dates of three generations of this family (a lot more Names! These Jones
had about twelve children in each generation of direct ancestors.) The line
has been pushed back two more generations to pre-1725, and a couple more
new in-law sur names added to the list. One just never knows who or what
will turn up.
