It has been awhile since I've posted my WINSLOW information and
request. By now there should be a few new people on the mail lists
so will post my requests again.
Enoch WINSLOW was born in VT abt 1792. He appeared on the 1820, 1830
and 1840 Census for Bennington, Genesse Co., NY. He bought land in
1835, sold in 1946. (I have copies of the Deeds).
Enoch and Fanny show up on the Plato Twp., Kane Co., IL 1850 Census,
along with five children:
Lucy Ann WINSLOW, b abt 1828, NY
Alvah A. WINSLOW, b abt 1832, NY
Olive L. WINSLOW, b abt 1836, NY
Warren W. WINSLOW, b abt 1839, NY
Charles WINSLOW, b abt 1842, NY
Enoch died at the home of his son (name not given) in McHenry,
McHenry Co., IL on 23 Jan 1864.
One week before his death, he had purchased property in Taycheedah,
FonduLac Co., WI. Several Quit Claim Deeds from his children to
Fanny were recorded 1n 1864, one of them from Enoch Marcellus WINSLOW
and wife, Laura, of Springport, MI and Ellen FRENCH of Constantine,
St. Joseph, MI. I have copies of the Deeds.
Enoch Marcellus and Laura (BALCH) WINSLOW were my great-great
grandparents. I believe Ellen must have been another daughter of
Enoch & Fanny.
Lucy Ann WINSLOW married Daniel J. MILLER, of Milwaukee, WI on 9 Oct
1850. Olive L. WINSLOW married I.F. (Ithuriel on a QCD to Enoch &
Fanny) of Milwaukee, WI on 19 Oct 1856. I have these marriage
certificates.
Charles died in 1889 in Cook Co., IL. I have ordered a copy of the
Death Certificate from the IL archives. (The death was listed on a
death index and I'm not sure yet if this is the Charles I'm looking
for, but his age at death would put his birth in 1842, same as 1850
Census.
Questions: Who were the parents of Enoch and Fanny WINSLOW?
Looking for descendants of their children (except those
children of Enoch Marcellus - I have all his!)
And yes, I have checked for birth, marriage and death records, county
historians, numerous genealogy societies, church historians, etc.
