Am seeking information on the town of Onondaga Hollow, Onondaga Co., NY,
during the period from 1807-1835. My ancestor, John GRIDLEY lived there
during those years and owned a "Tannery and Boot and Shoe Shop". It was said
that he left the area due to the "Panic of 1833". Family history says that
he lived in a large stone house. What was the "Panic of 1833", and were
stone houses common to that time and area? John GRIDLEY married Nancy
Seely, 4 Jul 1809. They had 11 children, four of which died in Onondaga
Hollow while young. Where might these children be buried? They died between
the years of 1810 and 1816. Two of the children died during the month of Sep
1816. Was there an epidemic during that year?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me,

Toni Mann, (Lidajane@aol.com)
