Looking for information on the ancestry of Thomas JEWETT with wife
Prudence RUDE; he died December 1838, Rome, Oneida Co., NY. His pension
application states he was born in Canterbury, CT, April 1758. No record
of his birth has been found in the Barbour records. The Jewett
genealogies confuse him with the Thomas Jewett who married Melatiah
WOODCOCK (they also call her BABCOCK in error); this TJ ended up in
Wardsboro, VT.
