Can anyone help please? my great grandfather's (Carl WORTHINGTON) death record
indicates the names of Randolph and Julia WORTHINGTON as parents or
relatives, I have always presumed that this meant they were his
parents. He is buried in Randolph WORTHINGTON's family plot.
Randolph was given guardianship in April 1876 in the Town of
Allegheny for Carl and released the guardianship in April 1888 in
Salamanaca when Carl reached the age of majority.

Can anyone tell me why he would need guardianship of his own son?
Another piece of information that might help, Randolph was married to
2nd wife Ruvina E. abt 1872. I can't find a death record for first
wife, so possibly there was a divorce or something else.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
