Dear Folks,

My wife's 4g grandfather was Stephen MACK (? - ?). He is reported
by "Genealogy of the Benedict Family in America" as a judge from Owego,
Tioga County. His daughter, Elizabeth MACK (1782-1863) married Benjamin
BENEDICT (1784-1833) from Litchfield CT, settled in Meredith, Delaware,
NY. Benj' Benedict was a member of the assembly in 1822. Stephen MACK's
grandaughter, Mary A. BENEDICT (1811-1883), married Stephen Mack VAN
DUSEN (1810-1869) [also seen as DEUZEN, DEUSEN, etc.]. Stephen Mack Van
Dusen is reported to have been born in Danenport, Delaware NY and
buried in Union, NY, which is probably Union Township, Broome County.
Stephen Mack Van Dusen's name leads me to suspect that he and his wife
are first cousins, but I have no evidence to support that.

I know the Benedict ancestors, but we know nothing more about the
MACKS or VAN DUSENS who preceded the people mentioned above. Does
anyone have suggestions for archive repositories, published or
unpublished genealogies, or other sources which I might search for more
information about these Macks and Van Dusens? I would appreciate any
leads.
