David-- Your speculation is correct. The Bronx is part of the New York
County Directories and actually remained so after 1914. I'm not too
sure how long, but I was just using it last Friday up as far as 1923
and Manhattan and Bronx were combined. (I think the label on the reel
said Manhattan, rather than NY County).
