Albert Andriessen Bradt, the tobacco planter and sawmill operator, was one of
Albany's first settlers. He was known to be cruel to his wife and children.
The Bradt family is descended from him. He was known as Albert The Norman,
and the Normanskill in Albany was named after him. His wife's name was
Barentse van Rotmers, and one of his daughter's names was Eva Albertse.
