Re: Dr. O'Neill Family

There is no mention of either Simon O'Neill in the 3 major Histories of
Binghamton/Broome Co. (Smith's, Lawyer's, Seward's) nor in Maurice Hitt's
compilation of news clippings for that period. I do not have Leading
Citizens of Broome Co. to check.

With the death date, your research should be simple. First, get an obituary
which should list Dr. Simon's family. (If you can't get to the main library
in that city, write them and see how much they would charge to send youy a
copy of that obit. Some libraries will do this if you have the exact date of
death.) Second, check the Surrogate Court for the county in which he died.
Doubt they will look up and copy the will for you, but with the exact death
date, they might be willing to do this if you are unable to get to the
courthouse in the county seat. In NYS, notice to the heirs or possible heirs
is required and should list any children and/or grandchildren and the city in
which they resided at the death.

Hope this helps you.
