I am interested in two Armenian brothers, Joseph and Paul PAPASAIN who
immigrated to NYC from Turkey. Paul came to Yonkers, Westchester County
about 1883. He was naturalized in 1892 and was a salesman in a furniture
store at that time.

By 1900 he was married to Anne(or Aznir), also from Turkey. She immigrated
to the USA about 1894. Paul and Anne had two baby girls, Lilly and
Florence, 4 and 2 years old. The family was living in Yonkers at 95
Palisade Ave.

In 1905, still in Yonkers, they had moved to 213 Nepperham Ave. The girls
were 9 and 7 and Paul PAPASIAN is listed in the state census as a furniture
merchant.

By 1920, Paul is living with his daughter, Florence, at 41 Linden. Paul is
67 and Florence is 21. In 1979, Florence is living at 12 Lake Ave in Yonkers.
She is now 81 years old and is still Florence PAPASAIN. She dies on June
27, 1983 in zip code 10703. A will is filed (file#1983-2103) in Westchester
County. Her residence is listed as Yonkers.

My questions regarding this family are:

1. What is covered by zip 10703? Is there an area called North Westchester?

2. Where would I write to get a copy of Florence PAPASAIN's will. Is there a
special form that I must use, does anyone know what the charge will be?

3. Are there death and marriage indexes of Yonkers that I could use to
determine when Anne and Paul died and get a clue to what happened to Lily
PAPASAIN?

The older brother,Joseph PAPASAIN, may have come to the USA about 1888. The
1990 census lists a Joseph PAPASAIN with his wife, (Alice?) and a son,
Eddie. (According to family tradition it should be Steve.) This Joseph,
lives at 122 Palisade Ave in the 1900 census and at 40 or 48 1/2 Palisade
Ave in 1905 census. He was naturalized in 1894, states he is a carpenter. In
1905 his son (Steve or Eddie)is not listed, he may be 18. Joseph's wife is
now Ella who came to the USA in 1898. Joseph has a furniture business at 48
1/2 Palisade Ave, according to the 1902-1904 City Directory. I cannot
locate any further information on this family or find another Joseph
PAPASAIN that I am sure is the correct family.

My grandfather lived with one of these uncles when he came to the USA in
1896. I am VERY anxious to locate a descendant of one of these families.
Any suggestions or help will be most appreciated.
