I'm also searching for a POTTER connection - In the 70's, the Potter's had
an active gen. family group searching through the Historical Society's for
info on my gggrandmother, Nancy (Potter?) m. Truman Barnes - 3 children -
Edwin, Azoa, Irene. Lived in Pike, Wyoming County, NY . NANCY B. 1819 in
CN. d. 1898 b. East Coy, Wyo, NY - Edwin in 104thNY d. 1st day of
Gettsburg Battle. Azoa (Mary Jane) b c. 1840 m. (1) Joseph Gates Adams in
NY (4
children, (Eugene, Stella, Neoska Letta, Edwin).
Azoa m. (2) --- Icing (Ison) of Toledo; then moved to Chicago.
(Obit has her there in 1912) Lost her completely - and Joseph Gates
Adams also. He supposedly went to Michigan to look for her (c. 1860's)
and
neither one returned to their four kids in NY. Dorie Adams Kelley
