elma in erie co. did exist in 1860, appears in valuation of 1858 had 11
school districts and 896 kids being taught. it was formed from lancaster and
aurora dec 4 1857. elma had several mnfg establishments and 34 houses

Sometimes those census reels filmed things out of alphabetical order. Or
maybe included with former towns. Good luck!
