Hi Folks,
I have a cousin who, while he would be elderly, is probably still living
and Im running out of ideas to try in order to find him. Im hoping someone
of you may have some suggestions as to avenues I could try in order to
locate him.

Im looking for a Robert E. Greene, parents George and Henrietta. Robert
was born 5-12-1920 in Mount Vernon NY. My last living Uncle thinks that
Robert did marry and have a son Robert Jr., but he doesnt remember anything
more than that.

Robert did serve in the Navy Reserve from 5-1942 to 9-1943, had a rank of
Ensign. No other service info other than that. I did try to use the
Navy's locator resources, but since they do not have a current address
(neither do I ) they could not help me and they will not supply me with his
last known address. Robert is listed on the Naval Memorial Log on the web,
and the Log a whole has only been in exsistence less than 10 years, so he
or someone placed his name there not all that long ago. (the memorial log
contains both living and deceased persons)

I have inquired of the Salvation Army about their family locator service,
but this only applies to siblings or birth parents I was told. So, that
option is out of the question for me as Robert is a cousin.

I have emailed every Robert Greene in NY that I can find. Unfortunately,
this is a common name, and if still living in NY, it would be impossible
financially to snail mail each Robert.

I have also considered trying one of those commercial services that claim
to be able to locate anyone, but without a social security number for
Robert or other information, this too would be financially impossible
(apparently the more info one can provide, the less expensive these
services are) and I dont know if these companies are trustworthy to begin
with.

Thank you in advance for any ideas, suggestion, anything, I sure would
appreciate it. Im grabbing at straws now.
