Dennis,
Aside from what might be available through the NYS Library and
archives (both have been written about here in the not too distant past),
I just ran across this page for the Carlisle Barracks.(that's the
Army's archives);
http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usamhi/ACWUnits.html

This is a search engine that returns at least a bibliography on the
Unit.

It returned this citation;

Also, an Altavista search of the string ; 155th near NY near vol
returned the folloing page with this;
from

155th NY Vol Inf., Co. I (Corcoran's Irish Legion - "The 'Second' Irish
Brigade")
(Member of "Irish Volunteers Batallion")
Cpt. Richard Rosche

(716) 885-3755, evening
(716) 839-3200, days
Cpl. Kevin O'Beirne

The email links are set up wrong, but it appears that Cpl. Kevin is
CMXN64A@prodigy.com, and Capt. Richard is 102406.142@compuserve.com .

These are re-enactors, not necessarily historians, but often they have
a better handle on what went on in the trenches than some historians.
Re-enactors frequently 'assume' the charactor of one of the actual
members of the original Reg.

have fun,
jim
