Karen, I don't mind you posting them [the Springfield Union-News obits],
but it seems like a duplication if you are also submitting them to
gen-obit, the Obituary Daily Times.

If you are not, you might consider it! they publish a list each day of
two thousand obituaries world-wide, and are always looking for people
to handle a newspaper in their area.

For people looking for obituaries, gen-obit seems like the logical place
to look. It is also archived and searchable.

to subscribe and get the daily listings, send this message to
listserv@mail.eworld.com
SUBSCRIBE GEN-OBIT
This will bring you the FAQ with more options. As I understand it,
anyone can lurk, but only submitters can ask another submitter for a copy
of the obituary. But the newspaper, city and date is listed.

Daily digest mode runs 150-225 Kb, so it won't work if you can't get
large messages. I find lots of interesting deaths in these listings, and
just search it for a few names I am researching.

it looks like this:

Obituary Daily Times v3 #115

Name; age; place of death; name of publication; date of publication; tagname
