Sungood Stary sounds like an Anglicization of a Germanic name. Have you tried checking in with a newsgroup related to the area? I don't know if there's a soc.genealogy.austrian but there's soc.genealogy.german and maybe someone there could take an educated guess.

I sympathize because my husband's grandmother's SS-5 form showed her born in Berry, Eng, which turned out to be Bury and my uncle's WWI Draft Reg listed Brisk, Russia which turned out to be Brest, Belorus today. (I got the latter by asking on soc.genealogy.jewish. At least 15 people replied with that answer).
