Studying social history has always been one of my hobbies, but except
for a "Godey's (sp?) Lady's Book" published in the 1860's (purchased at
an estate sale for well over $100), everything else that I have had
access to has been university press type things. Interesting, but not
nearly as informative as the personal family histories related here.
Wish I could afford to get my hands on more books like the one that I
mentioned, but I can't.
These stories are Very pertinent to the discussion of genealogy. If you
are not happy with them, delete them. There aren't that many available,
so it shouldn't overwork you. :)
in peace,
