Most, if not all genealogist are aware of the expotential number of surnames
that identify those who are responsible for us being here today. The
inclusion of maiden surnames for married women could or could not be
important to others. If it makes those who have them feel better, include
them.
I, for one, do not believe further discussion of inclusion or exclusion of
maiden surnames is warranted on a list that purports to be dedicated to
genealogical research in New York State.
Let us all get back to basics and use this and the other lists that we
subscribe for the purpose of research.
